About the Author
Jade McFay is a UK-based author and school librarian living with her husband, two daughters, and three cats. When she’s not encouraging young readers to fall in love with books, she’s reading or writing stories of her own. She enjoys exploring many genres but is especially drawn to fast-paced thrillers packed with tension and twisty endings.
Although #Missing is a work of fiction, its themes are real-life experiences for many people. The story explores sensitive subject matter that may resonate deeply with readers, including loneliness, complex friendships, parental abandonment, infidelity, and sexual abuse.
If you are affected by any of these themes, please remember that help and support are available. In the UK, the following organisations offer confidential support:
- Samaritans – emotional support for anyone in distress: 116 123 (24/7)
- Rape Crisis England & Wales – support for survivors of sexual violence: 0808 802 9999 (24/7)
- NSPCC Helpline – support for adults concerned about a child: 0808 800 5000
- National Domestic Abuse Helpline – support for those experiencing abuse: 0808 2000 247 (24/7)
